Why Your Water System Matters
Water is one of the most-used systems in any van build. You'll interact with it multiple times a day — cooking, cleaning, drinking, and (if you're lucky) showering. A bad water setup means constant hassle: leaks under the counter, a pump that screams at 2 AM, or running dry 30 miles from the nearest fill station.
The good news? Water systems are one of the more affordable parts of a van build, and even a mid-range setup can feel luxurious compared to filling bottles at gas stations.
Fresh Water vs Grey Water Tanks

Water Filtration
If you're filling up from campground spigots or park faucets, an inline filter is cheap insurance. For backcountry water, you'll want something more serious.

Winterizing Your Water System
If you're in freezing temps, frozen pipes can crack fittings, burst tanks, and destroy pumps. Proper winterizing is non-negotiable.
